Another one of my happy, twirly outfits. I simply can’t help it, it is just not humanly possible to wear this skirt and not twirl and smile and dance and laugh. Granted I did get some looks from people passing by, yet I hardly care when the sun is shining, the birds are singing and I am wearing a black and, pleated master piece of a skirt.
Lately, I’m into these conservative and modest fashion looks, I don’t feel like being exposed too much these days.
I am loving it with a bow-tie ruffled blouse. The ruffles paired with pleats are both edgy and feminine, and I love everything about it. I really think it’s a great piece to add to your wardrobe that is classic yet fun.
I could say the same thing about this bow tie blouse, as it works equally well with a printed pant, pencil skirt, or the A-line style I’m wearing here.
When I’m wearing a black skirt and shoes, as I am here, I tend to favor sheer tights. Opague tights, while leg lengthening, have a tendency of feeling like too much black. You can also break up some of the black and white look with a good patterned jacket such as: houndstooth, glen plaid, tweed, or gingham, which are several years old but still one of my favorite classics.
What do you guys think of this look? Is it one you would wear? How would you make it your own?
